Two Charged In Connection With Heathrow ‘Pepper Spray’ Attack
Formal charges have been brought against two men following a luggage theft where a believed to be pepper spray caused injuries at the UK's busiest airport.
Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, now face two robbery charges and two counts of deploying a toxic agent, as confirmed by court officials.
This legal action stems from an probe of an assault at the parking structure at Terminal 3 on the weekend. Prior to the attack, two female travelers had their suitcases taken after getting out of a car park lift, police said.
A three-year-old girl was one of the people hurt in the event. Several persons were taken to a medical facility and were later discharged.
The incident – described by police as was not part of a series and deemed non-terroristic – resulted in disruptions to rail services and the partial closure of the main airport road tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a brief period.
