Jet Carrying US Defense Secretary Required to Touch Down in UK Because of Fracture in Cockpit Window
An aircraft transporting Pete Hegseth was compelled to make an unscheduled landing in the United Kingdom on Wednesday after a crack was found in the plane's windshield, as stated by an announcement which stated that all passengers were secure.
"The jet touched down following standard procedures and everyone onboard, including Secretary Hegseth, is unharmed," a press officer commented in a online announcement.
Hegseth was returning from a brief trip to the Belgian capital during the flight.
This incident does not mark the initial instance that a United States armed forces jet carrying a high-ranking official has suffered equipment failures.
Months ago, a United States Air Force aircraft carrying Secretary of State Marco Rubio to the German city of Munich was required to head back to Washington DC after encountering a mechanical problem.
